Thanks to the hard work of Cara & Christina, Legacy Horse Training won "Best in Show" at the 2009 Orange Christmas Parade!

Thanks to the hard work of Cara & Christina, Legacy Horse Training won “Best in Show” at the 2009 Orange County, Virginia Holiday Parade! The theme was Star Spangled Christmas. Foxy, Pepe, and Pixie were absolutely awesome. They even bowed their heads to the judges on cue! The best part of all, though, was that it was truly the first time Pepe had been ridden off the farm. His first trail ride was a parade! If that’s not a commercial for Jamie, I don’t know what is! Buster carried saddlebags of candy for the kids. Buster was a big hit in his first public appearance. Thanks to all who helped us out on our first big win!

Legacy Horse Training is proud to announce the arrival of two Mustangs courtesy of the Bureau of Land Management’s adoption held in Lorton, VA, as part of National Wild Horse and Burro Adoption day! Austin and Vegas both came from management areas in Nevada. Both are 3 year old mares. Up to now, they are loving life in their pen, becoming more and more comfortable with us. We are not entered in the mustang makeover, we just wanted to try our hand at training these beautiful animals.

We’d also like to welcome Buster, our new sonnen goat. Buster has already been on his first trail ride and learned a head down cue! He’s been here a month and already runs the place!

Riding will be taught from a balanced seat, multi-disciplinary approach that emphasizes using the body in partnership with the rein to produce a calmer, more cooperative horse. Beginner students will be teamed up with one of our family horses at Unaliyi Farm. Intermediate and advanced students may bring their own horse with permission from camp director.
